A texture or raw data used to make 3 dimensional terrains. 4×4 Evolution stores this information as RAW pixel data with a 256×256 16-bit Greyscale texture. This provides for 65535 levels of adjustment combined with a minimum and maximum altitude level to generate the games terrain.
